What is a medical peel?

Devie uses a medium-depth, medical-grade peel that combines TCA and salicylic acid with vitamin C and the antioxidant glutathione. It removes dull outer layers of skin and encourages fresher skin to come through, improving the look of tone, texture and clarity.

Who it may suit

People with dull skin, uneven tone, pigmentation or rough texture. Some peels are not suitable during pregnancy, with cold sores or broken skin, or after recent isotretinoin. Darker skin types need extra care, which Devie will talk through.

What happens on the day

Your skin is cleansed and the peel applied for a set time. Most people feel tingling or warmth. The peel is then neutralised or removed.

Aftercare and recovery

Expect visible peeling or flaking from around day three to day seven. Don't pick at peeling skin, avoid active skincare products, and use a high-SPF sunscreen every day.

Risks and side effects

Common: stinging, redness, dryness and flaking. Less common: temporary darkening or lightening of the skin, or infection. These are explained at your consultation.
