What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are gels made mostly of hyaluronic acid, a substance found naturally in the skin. Placed carefully beneath the skin, they can add support where volume has been lost and soften the appearance of deeper folds.
Devie uses premium hyaluronic acid fillers, which can be dissolved if ever needed.

What happens on the day
After your consultation, Devie cleanses the skin and may apply numbing cream. Many fillers also contain a local anaesthetic. She places the filler gradually, checking balance as she goes, and you see the result in the mirror before you leave. A review is offered at around two weeks.
Aftercare and recovery
Avoid make-up, strenuous exercise, alcohol and heat such as saunas for 24 to 48 hours. Mild swelling, tenderness and bruising are common and usually settle within a week.
Risks and side effects
Common: swelling, redness, tenderness, bruising and small lumps. Less common but serious: infection, or filler affecting a blood vessel, which needs urgent treatment. Devie explains how complications are managed at your consultation and gives you an aftercare contact number.
Who it may not suit
Fillers are not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, where there is infection at the treatment site, or with some medical conditions and medicines. Devie checks all of this at your consultation.
Questions
Will it look obvious?
Devie works gradually and conservatively. The aim is that people notice you look rested, not that something has been done.
How long does filler last?
It varies with the area treated and your own skin. With the premium fillers Devie uses, results typically last 12 to 24 months.
Can filler be dissolved?
Hyaluronic acid filler can usually be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if needed.
