What are fat dissolving injections?

A solution is injected into a small area of fat beneath the skin, where it breaks down the walls of fat cells. Your body then clears the contents naturally over the following weeks.

Devie uses Aqualyx, a CE-marked medical device designed for small areas of stubborn fat.

Who it may suit

People close to a healthy weight with a small, stubborn area that has not responded to diet and exercise, such as under the chin or along the bra line, or larger areas such as the back, stomach and thighs. It is not a weight-loss treatment. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with some medical conditions, or where there is infection at the treatment site.

What happens on the day

After your consultation, Devie marks the area and places the injections in a careful pattern. Treatment is usually 2 to 3 sessions, 4 weeks apart, with progress reviewed at each visit.

Aftercare and recovery

Swelling, redness, tenderness and bruising are expected and can last several days, especially under the chin. Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol and heat for 48 hours.

Risks and side effects

Common: swelling, bruising, tenderness, itching and temporary numbness. Less common: lumps or infection, and rarely nerve irritation. Devie explains all risks at your consultation.
