Treatment options for lines and wrinkles
Factual information to read before your consultation. Only a face-to-face assessment can tell you which options, if any, are suitable for you.
Skincare and sun protection
Daily broad-spectrum sun protection and a consistent routine help slow the development of fine lines and improve skin texture over time.
Skin boosters and polynucleotides
Injectable treatments placed into the skin to support hydration and skin quality, usually given as a short course. Common side effects include redness, swelling, small bumps and bruising at injection points, which usually settle within days.
Dermal fillers
Hyaluronic acid gel used to soften deeper, static folds and restore volume. Results are temporary. Side effects can include swelling, tenderness and bruising. Rare but serious complications, including blocked blood vessels, are explained in full at consultation.
Botulinum toxin (prescription-only medicine)
Botulinum toxin type A is a prescription-only medicine that temporarily relaxes the muscles that cause some expression lines. It can only be prescribed after a face-to-face assessment by a qualified prescriber.
Effects usually begin within a few days and are typically fully visible at around two weeks. They commonly last around three to four months and wear off gradually. Treatment itself takes around 15 to 30 minutes, and a review at around two weeks is included if needed.
Side effects can include bruising, redness or tenderness at injection points, headache and, less commonly, a temporary heavy or drooping brow or eyelid. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for people with certain neuromuscular conditions.
Every option is discussed at a face-to-face consultation, alongside your medical history, before any decision is made.
